Frequently asked questions
What format should my number be in?
International format with your country code: +1 for the US and Canada, +44 for the UK, +61 for Australia. Iris QR automatically removes spaces, the “+” and any leading “00”.
Is the pre-filled message required?
No, it’s optional. It’s very useful to know where a contact comes from, though, for example “Hi, I’m writing from your flyer”.
Does it work with WhatsApp Business?
Yes. The wa.me link works the same way with a regular WhatsApp account or WhatsApp Business.
What if the person doesn’t have WhatsApp?
The link opens a WhatsApp web page inviting them to install the app or use WhatsApp Web.
