A QR code generator built for quality and privacy

Most “free” QR code generators store your data on their servers, route your code through their own domain, then deactivate your QR code after a few weeks unless you pay for a subscription. Iris QR works differently.

Your QR code is computed right in your browser and contains your information as-is: your website address, your Wi-Fi credentials or your contact card. It relies on no third-party service and will keep working forever, whether it’s printed on a business card, a poster, a menu or packaging.

On the design side, you’re in control: brand colors, round or rounded dots, custom corners and a center logo. Iris QR checks the contrast and automatically adds the required quiet zone, so your QR code stays beautiful and scannable.

Frequently asked questions

Is Iris QR really free?

Yes, completely. There’s no account to create, no watermark and no limit on how many codes you create or download. You can use your QR codes for personal and commercial purposes.

Will my QR codes expire?

No. Iris QR creates static QR codes: the information is written directly into the code, with no server redirect. They work indefinitely, even if Iris QR ever disappeared.

Is my data sent to a server?

No. The QR code is generated locally by your browser. What you type (link, Wi-Fi password, contact details, logo) is never transmitted or stored. You can even use the tool offline once the page has loaded.

Can I add my logo to the center of the QR code?

Yes. Click “Add a logo” in the customization panel. Error correction automatically switches to level H (30%) so the code stays readable despite the logo. Always test a scan before printing.

Which format should I choose: PNG or SVG?

PNG is great for the web, social media and office documents. SVG is a vector format: it scales infinitely without losing quality, making it the best choice for print and design tools (Illustrator, InDesign, Canva, Figma).

What is the minimum print size for a QR code?

Allow at least 2 × 2 cm (about 0.8 in) for close-range scanning such as business cards and labels. For scanning from a distance, use the “distance ÷ 10” rule: a QR code scanned from 3 m (10 ft) should be about 30 cm (1 ft) wide.
